Vancouver

While we were in Seattle, we took a side trip to Vancouver, Canada.   We’ve heard really amazing reviews   from other people, but haven’t been ourselves until now.    It was an interesting trip, and really glad we went but Seattle was definitely more appealing to us.   In Vancouver, we stayed at Holiday Inn about 20 minutes outside of city center; it had an inside pool, Subway right outside and free breakfast – what more can you ask for :)   We tried to do some Vancouver specific sightseeing and opted to skip “old dusty church” but visited the Granville Island which is a huge public market and Stanley Park where boys got to run on the rocky beach and throw sticks in the water amongst other things. Seattle trip

We are back from spending 5 days in Iceland and 9 days in Seattle, USA with a little detour to Vancouver, Canada; but as I briefly mentioned first week was a bit challenging.  Nothing we are not used to anyway. Second week was a bit a challenging since Chris and I got a cold, and Anton hasn’t slept through the night.   The flight back was a bit long with our first leg from Seattle to Reykjavik being a little over 7 hours, then 45 minute connection, and then another 3 hour flight to Frankfurt.  Anton caused the most suffering to people around him, and Ilya suffered the most.  Ilya just wanted to lie down and sleep comfortably which was obviously not an option, Anton slept for about 4 hours but then he was just LOUD.  Cartoons, candy, drawing, etc. can only entertain this super active child for so long. Seattle was awesome, we loved seeing family and watching Andrei play computer games with his cousin was really cool.  It's been said a number of times since we came bac

Back to Deutschland

We came back to Germany about 5 days ago and adjustment back has been a bit difficult with a 9 hour difference and Anton getting sick (trouble breathing in the middle of the night, but fine now) means that sleep is really an elusive "lady." Here are some pictures from our trip and hopefully I'll be more "with it" early next week and post more.
